Lafayette Savings Bank seeks a full-time Consumer Loan Processor who will be responsible for evaluating all loan
information supplied by lending officers; verifying lending programs and providing required disclosures; preparing
closing and post closing documentation and monitoring collateral as directed.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated PC literacy.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Ability to trouble shoot and resolve problems associated with the processing of loans.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Previous processing experience is preferred 2+ years banking experience required.
Responsibilities
- Review file for proper loan program and disclosures. Provide disclosure within the prescribed time
period. Confirm appropriate purpose code.
- Order appraisals, flood certificates, and title assurance information.
- Maintain communications with lending officer, loan production manager, other bank management
staff, and consumer through the processing, closing and post closing period.
- Confirm underwriting approval for all consumer loans; prepare when applicable “Adverse Action”
notification and distribute as directed.

LSB is seeking a full-time Loan Originator who will be responsible for originating investment quality loans (Conventional, FHA, VA,USDA) by selling the Bank’s loan products and services to its client base of deposit and loan customers, Realtors, homebuyers, homeowners, builders, and others. Active participation in related business development initiatives is also expected in this position.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5-year loan origination experience is preferred.
- Proven communication skills at a level consistent with the requirements of the position and to generate independent leads for new business.
- Knowledge of standard loan products and underwriting guidelines.
- Ability to work flexible hours with local travel and occasional travel for training purposes.
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain client referral relations with a variety of referral partners including Realtors, builders, developers, insurance agents, attorneys, and others.
- Monitor overall customer interaction and interface with all parties involved in each individual loan from application to closing, including but not limited to counseling and pre-qualifying potential home buyers, taking complete and accurate applications, obtaining all necessary support documents along with appropriate fee and lock-in information, monitoring the loan status and assisting in the collection of additional documents prior to and subsequent to closing.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with mortgagors.
- Keep informed of trends and developments in the local real estate market, including the competitive environment, as well as the rules and regulations of all agencies, i.e. FHLMC, FNMA, FHA, VA, USDA, and compliance and security requirements of Bank.
- Maintain a professional image and standards consistent with company policies and procedures.
